In the Far East in the 19th century, the Opium trade which was a state monopoly ensured a substantial income for the English Empire first, then for the French Empire in Indochina.

The nature of this drug as cure for the body and the soul could only fascinate writers and artists in search of euphoria and fantasy.

This series of artistic nudes is inspired by themes developed by exoticism and dreams in the Indochinese literature. It was realized in Paris in a bookshop of old and rare books specialized on Asia.
