For the luxury life style, Hong Kong stands as the premiere destination in Asia. Its first luxury hotel was built in 1868 by The Hongkong Hotel Company on crossroad of Queen’s Road and Pedder Street. This area is still the luxury area of Central Hong Kong and the ancient hotel has been replaced by the Landmark building.
From the series Luxe Mythologies, this photo is showing how fashion and luxury brands have replaced Religion with theirs Logos. Items are displayed as precious relics on altars. Although brands names are reflecting upside-down, they are recognizable at the first glance, because we all know them unconsciously.

Neons of luxury are glowing on the deserted avenue. The glass facades reflect the logos that spread their mystical light in the night, a continual desire generated by billions invested of advertising. From Paris to Saigon via Hong Kong, it flows throughout the journey with the same stage direction.
Evanescent statues are covered with shimmering costumes. In the halo of the alcoves, cult objects are offered by hands, almost graspable through the thin glass wall.
Many doors protect this paradise. To unlock them, a doll is the guide for this child’s play.
The moment of communion with the Brand is at this price: a short moment of physical contact, almost like the reality of a dream.
The return of the morning will clear the satisfaction and the desire will constantly renew from this vacuum.

Les néons du luxe luisent sur l’avenue désertée. Les façades vitrées reflètent les logos qui délivrent dans la nuit leur lumière mystique, un désir continuel engendré par des milliards investis dans les messages publicitaires.
De Paris à Saigon en passant par Hong Kong, il se propage tout au long du voyage dans une même mise en scène Les statues évanescentes sont revêtues de costumes chatoyants. Dans le halo des alcôves, les objets cultes sont offerts par les mains, presque saisissables à travers la mince paroi de verre. De nombreuses portes protègent ce paradis.
Pour les franchir, une poupée sert de guide dans cette traversée qui se doit être un jeu d’enfant.
L’instant de communion avec la Marque est à ce prix : un moment de contact physique de courte durée, semblable à la réalité d’un rêve.
Le retour du matin effacera la satisfaction. Le désir se renouvellera sans cesse de ce vide.
