Scene – Smoke at the horizon
This scene is part of the work on the series “Escape” talking about migration.
The character is looking a smoke in the distance, a violent past but also souvenirs of his native home he wants to retrieve .
Synopsis: He was an emigre, or a refugee. The terms are as they are, they can not totally define a long history of deprivations, wars, deaths.
The man arrived by a port or an airport in his host country, almost forty years ago. He had been dazzled by his new home
In this city where he lived, he looked at the horizon. Sometimes his memories escaped and would bring him back to his country of origin.
He often went to the airport to either drop off or pick up passengers because his job was to be a taxi driver. That day, he had no customer, only a case, and decided to choose the departure gate.
Or simply while waiting for his customers he was looking as usual at the horizon.
