Meta Far-East – Immersive Sea Level Rising on Climate Change
Most of the countries in the Far East have coastlines. These territories will be affected by the sea level rising such as the megacities of Bangkok, Ho Chi Minh City, as it is written in the new study of the French National Center for Scientific Research (CNRS), the University of La Rochelle in France and the National Center for Atmospheric Research in the United States (NCAR).
By 2100, nearly 50 million people will face this higher than expected rise in sea levels.
The artworks are aiming to visualize this challenge in an extensive global view with maps, photography, video art and video game.
The installation of floating houses on the sea symbolized by the Meta Zen Garden put the visitors in an immersive condition to physically experience this consequence of the climate change.
Displayed at the University of Art of Singapore, Quang Lam would like to raise the consciousness of the students in Design and Architecture who will have to find concrete solutions for the life of the impacted populations.
